Ah puffer coats. Some might say they are the bane of our existence. So delightfully warm and yet so Michelin-Man-resembling. But how to combat the Michelin Man costume? Easy - two steps.
- Belt it
- Keep your clothes underneath the coat form fitting
To combat the dreaded over the top puff created by the coat, belt it at your narrowest point - your waist. A skinny belt works best by drawing the eye in to the nipped-in waist without adding any extra, definitely-unnecessary bulk.
The second step is to make sure that the outfit you choose for under the puffer coat is delightfully formfitting. The last thing you want is bulky, heavy layers and the beauty of a puffer coat is that you simply don't need them anyway! Go for a gorgeous merino, fitted turtleneck and a pencil skirt or skinny jeans to keep your figure looking long and lean. Michelin Man be gone!
